You don’t need a fancy gym membership to stay in shape!
Exercise is a key factor in staying healthy in both mind and body. One of the most common reasons a lot of individuals do not get the proper exercise is that they feel they do not have the time to exercise. The following exercises can be done anywhere, anytime in no time at all!
*Take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator.
*When sitting in a chair at work or while watching television, stretch out your legs and return to seated position. Repeat for about 30 seconds at a time.
*While waiting in line at the store, rock feet from ball to toe, feeling the stretch in the back of your calves. Repeat for about 30 seconds at a time.
*When watching television in the day or night, use commercial breaks as an opportunity for a short circuit training workout. Do 30 jumping jacks, jog in place for 30 seconds, 30 more jumping jacks, march in place for 30 seconds, do 30 squats, and end your mini-circuit on the floor with 30 abdominal crunches.
Exercises that don’t feel like exercise
*Take a trip to the mall and window shop. You’ll be having such a good time that you won’t even realize you’re exercising!
*Walk your dog around the neighborhood. It will be beneficial to the health of your dog as well as your very own physical and mental health.
*When it’s warm outside, grab a shovel, some plants, and create a beautiful garden in your yard while keeping your heart healthy.
*While housecleaning can seem like a chore, turn on some music and make it a productive workout for your health and home.
*Grab a Frisbee, a family member or friend, and head to the nearest park or yard for a calorie-burning and fun-filled game of catch.
*Instead of driving through the automatic terminal, grab some old towels, a bucket of soapy warm water, and some sponges for an old-fashioned car wash that will put some sparkle on your car and in your energy levels!
