Sometimes it may seem like you can't fit in all of your meals and snacks. Working long hours at work, having to run errands, having to cook and clean, and trying to fit in your workouts and sleep can seem to be a challenge at times. Therefore, in order to make sure you fit in all of your nutrients everyday, some supplementation may be beneficial to keep your body running right.
  • Multivitamin: the most common supplement provides the basic nutrients so that no matter what, each day you will get the recommended amount of vitamins and nutrients. It can come in many forms such as for active individuals, for men or women, for 50 or over, or in gummy form. No matter what kind of multivitamin, it will help contribute to your overall optimal health.  It should be said though that multivitamin or not, be sure to get your meals and snacks in everyday for most days of the week since the best, most efficiently absorbed nutrients are from fresh, whole food.
  • Fish oil: In it's original form, fish oil comes from, well, fish. It contains omega-3 fatty acids that work as antioxidants in the body which contribute to lowering cholesterol and is great for skin and hair health. Since we may not be able to eat fish everyday, fish oil supplements are a way for us to enjoy the benefits of fish oil on a daily basis.
  • Vitamin C: Vitamin C supplements can come in drops, powder, or tablets, and like other supplements, merely acts as a way for s to eat more of the vitamin if we are not able to get vitamin-c rich foods such as citrus fruits or tomatoes in our diet everyday. 
  • Calcium supplements: if we are not able to get our calcium in through dairy products or green vegetables such as broccoli, we could take calcium supplements which will help to keep our bones and teeth strong.   The average individual should consume about 1000mg calcium daily and should also consume the same amount of vitamin d to help with absorption of calcium.
  • Vitamin D: vitamin D is necessary for many aspects of our health, including weight loss, therefore, in addition to getting at least 10-15 minutes of sunlight daily, vitamin d supplementation can help individuals get the proper vitamin d needed for proper health.
