The biggest excuse for not exercising that I hear is that there is not enough time in the day.  However, if we look close enough throughout our day, there is plenty of time here and there to get your heart pumping and get your exercise in, one step at a time!

.) Wear a pedometer:  This simple little device you wear on your waistband will count every step you take so you can keep track of how much you move every day.  The ultimate goal would be at least 10000 steps a day, or 5 miles, of steps.  Start with a smaller goal such as 2500 steps, then 5000 steps, upwards to 10000 steps or more!

.) Take a group walk:  Whether with your friend, family member, or dog, get up a little bit earlier in the morning, take an active lunch break, or walk off your dinner.  Just 30 minutes a day will not only get your heart pumping, but will multi-task by keeping your relationships with others healthy as well!

.) Exercise during work:  You may be saying, "How can I exercise during work?", but it's easier than you think.  Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, taking a short walk during your lunch break, marching in place while waiting in the cafeteria line, or even some at-your-desk exercises can help you burn some calories throughout the day.  Some desk exercises include marching in place while sitting down, backside squeezes for a few minutes every hour, or abdominal contractions for a few minutes every hour, to name a few.

.) Shop-walking:  While running errands, or window shopping at the mall, keep your abdominal muscles sucked in and tight, backside squeezed, and shoulders back while you walk at a speedier pace than the usual shopping stroll to burn calories while on-the-go!
